Eleanor Armstrong is an independant, highly respected psychologist offering clinical psychology to support Dr Mooring’s patients through their fertility, pregnancy and postpartum journey

Eleanor is a psychologist with many years experience working within the broader healthcare industry. She holds a Master of Clinical Psychology and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Health Regulation Agency (AHPRA). She is a full member of the Australian Psychological Society and a member of the perinatal and infant special interest group. 

Eleanor is a very empathic therapist, who prioritises building a strong therapeutic foundation first and foremost, and adopts a very holistic and collaborative approach to sessions. Eleanor uses tailored evidence-based care so that clients see a reduction in their distress and anxiety, and experience greater well-being and resilience. Eleanor has first hand experience with infertility and IVF and this combined with her clinical psychology qualifications, positions her to understand the complex and unique physical, mental, and emotional challenges that this brings. 

Eleanor has coordinated the group therapy programmes at a leading private mental health hospital for several years, including management of a large and diverse team of allied health professionals. Eleanor has experience working in both private practice and hospital settings, and treats a wide range of diagnoses and difficulties. These include anxiety, depression, post and perinatal anxiety, depression and adjustment, personality disorders, emotional dysregulation, grief and adjustment to significant life changes. She also has significant experience working with young children and supporting parents. 

Eleanor has training and experience in providing evidence-based interventions using a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy, and Expressive Therapy. She places great emphasis on providing an empathic and collaborative therapeutic approach, which allows her to consider the unique needs of each individual, or family that she helps.
